Bizan Gold Shochu
Shochu is a traditional Japanese distilled beverage which has steadily grown in popularity since the 1990s. Shochu is typically made from rice, wheat or potatoes and is enjoyed chilled, on the rocks or mixed with hot water.
At Gekkeikan, we produce the Bizan series of rice-based shochu and have developed a specialized production method based on low temperature fermentation, distillation and aging which results in a soft and fruity character.

Montes Alpha M
MONTES ALPHA”M” is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (80 %), Merlot (10 %), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Petit Verdot (5 %). A powerful wine with very good level of soft and rounded tannins. Intense dark red colour. The wine is elegant and has a very well defined character. The 5% of Petit Verdot is adding an extra element of complexity. There is an pleasant and harmonious marriage of fruit and the French oak. The structure of this wine will keep it for at least 20 years. On the palate, it is perfectly balanced, full-bodied and superbly voluptuous on the mid-palate with a rewarding, lingering after taste of mature grapes and acidity that reflects its superb structure.
MONTES ALPHA “M” can be enjoyed now or cellared for several years (it will continue to improve in the bottle for at least 20 years).

Pale green with a candy-like aroma. When cold water is added, there is no louche. The flavor consists of the mild ‘candy’ flavor, which is not anise, followed by a certain bitterness and the sharp flavor of the alcohol.

An oenochoe, also spelled oinochoe, (Ancient Greek: οἰνοχόη) is a wine jug and a key form of Greek pottery. There are many different forms of oenochoe. The earliest is the olpe (ὀλπή) and has an S-shaped profile from head to foot.
Oenochoai may be decorated or undecorated. Oenochoai typically have only one handle at the back and may include a trefoil pouring spout.
The Greek oenochoe was normally of painted terracotta pottery but metal oenochoai are also found.

This is the most important competition in Canada and one of the most prestigious in North America. Established in 1983, this competition proceeds under the high patronage of the International Organization of the Vine and Wine (OIV), the International Union of Winemakers (UIEO) and the World Federation of Major International Competitions of wines and spirits (VinoFed).
The 19th edition of this contest took place this year from May 30th to June 4th at the Hotel Palace Royal in Quebec. 1.806 wines from 581 producers of 35 countries participated. 545 medals were awarded: 10 Grand Gold Medals, 403 Gold Medals and 132 Silver Medals.
